Sacred Valley Extended Tour

Maras Salt Mines

Sacred Valley Tour Extended

The Sacred Valley Tour is one of the most popular tours in the region. The Sacred Valley of the Incas was a crucial area for the Inca Empire and functioned as an agricultural, spiritual and political centre for them.

Throughout its extension there are many Incan and Pre-Incan sites that can be found, and the Classic Sacred Valley Tour visits the two main sites, Pisac and Ollantaytambo. Throughout a full day, you will be able to appreciate the fine works of craftsmanship that the Incas produced and see the beautiful landscapes of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

In this Extended Tour of the Sacred Valley we will also visit the archaeological site of Moray and the salt flats of Maras. On our way back to Cusco we will visit the beautiful Lake Huaypo.

We are the only company to offer this comprehensive Sacred Valley Tour that includes all of the key Sacred Valley sites!

Since our day will be very full, we will provide you with a luxurious box lunch instead of stopping at a restaurant for lunch.

This Extended Sacred Valley Tour begins at 7:30 a.m. in order to avoid groups of tourists at the attractions visited. That’s why we do the Sacred Valley tour unlike many other bus tour groups, and the other big reason is that we want you to enjoy the attractions with very few people and learn much more about the places visited.

First, we will visit the Andean town of Chinchero, famous for its expert weavers and spectacular Inca sites. Our guide will take you to the weaver’s textile centre and give you a demonstration of dyeing and weaving techniques as well as the typical market.

After this visit, our private vehicle takes us on a panoramic trip to Moray. This site is composed of four circular depressions in the soil, which are believed to have been used by the Incas as an agricultural experiment station.

Afterwards, we will head towards the Maras salt flats. This salt mine displays a wide variety of pots of different sizes and shapes. Built on the slope of a hill with salt water from a nearby spring, and overlooking the green Urubamba valley.

After visiting Maras, we will descend to the famous Sacred Valley of the Incas, before heading to Ollantaytambo, we will have a delicious lunch (not included). Ollantaytambo is a living proof of a typical Inca village and shows how the ancient Peruvians lived, which has an impressive set of terraces.

The Extended Tour of the Sacred Valley will come to an end with a delivery to your hotel in Cusco or to restaurants in the city center.
